UltraLinq™ - Healthcare Solutions
Welcome

Welcome to the Linq

The Linq is a public platform open to all members of the medical imaging community to discuss, share, and connect on everything from best practices to new innovations.

Nothing allows for sustainable advancement faster than knowledge. In the last ten years UltraLinq has facilitated the occasional sharing of knowledge and ideas by connecting users and networks on small, one-off bases. Recognizing the need for open communication among everyone in the industry on a much larger scale the Linq was created, with the goal of easily allowing connections and promoting conversations that will ultimately pave the way to the sustainable advancement that the medical imaging community needs to increase efficiency while providing continually improving patient care.

While the Linq was created and is sponsored by UltraLinq Healthcare Solutions we are trying to create a community that is as non-biased as possible and has no agenda other then the promotion of open communication in the medical imaging community. We appreciate all feedback that will help us reach these goals.

ED Ultrasound Use Survey Results are In

The Linq recently completed a poll of 122 ultrasound directors in Emergency Departments with ultrasound residency programs throughout the US.

Results are in and here's what we found:

Respondents indicated an average of four ultrasound systems within their ED, with a broad range between 1 and 26 systems.

Of the exams performed during admission, triage, and diagnosis, 40% of the departments indicated they billed for less then 1/3 of these exams, while only 20% claimed to be billing for “Mostly All” of their exams.

Those that bill for the minority of exams cited a variety of reasons including poor image quality, lack of credentialing and inadequate departmental documentation.

80% of those surveyed had some form of ultrasound exam management system in place.

57% of them were “Not At All Satisfied” or only “Somewhat Satisfied” with their solution.

40% had “Home-Grown” solutions which included everything from, DVD, USB Drive, iPhoto, and email storage.

23% were using the general hospital PACS (23%).

Looking for new machine for ED

We are looking to get a new machine for our (fairly) small ED. I think our other machine is older then the building itself and I'm tasked with looking into finding a new one. Requirements are: good general package, portable and relatively affordable. Any help is appreciated.
