On March 30, 1933, Eudora Brown Almond honored physicians like her husband, Dr. Charles B. Almond. She sent greeting cards to doctors both active and retired. Twenty- five years after the first celebration, the United States House of Representatives adopted a resolution to commemorate Doctors’ Day. Doctors’ Day was signed into law on October 30, 1990, and now celebrated with greeting cards and red carnations.

At UltraLinq we are fortunate enough to support doctors every day. We see the long hours they put in, their commitment to patient care, and their dedication to health care as a whole.

When reflecting on current events, many doctors are working day and night to combat the recent upturn in cases of COVID-19. With an ever-increasing number of COVID-19 cases and long hours being put in, UltraLinq remains committed to sharing resources that support doctor well being on this commemorative day:

The American Medical Association listed 6 ways to handle the stress, that range from being cognizant of the hours that doctors are working to having access to mental health support: 6 ways to address physician stress during COVID-19 pandemic.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) posted tips to handle stress as a responder. As doctors continue to be on the front line, they risk their physical and mental health. The CDC tips focus on reducing secondary traumatic stress: Managing Stress and Anxiety.

Magellan Health Insights has a unique take on how to handle stress during this time. Their tips include creating a calm environment for yourself, as well as reaching out for professional help: Addressing anxiety about the coronavirus (COVID-19): Healthcare workers

Today, on National Doctors’ Day, all of us at UltraLinq would like to thank the doctors we previously worked with, are currently working with, and will work with in the future. We appreciate your trust in us to help care for your patients.
